The Burning House of Lives

"Oh my God... What have I done!" She mumbled sadly as she watched the remains of her small house burn to the ground in a black crisp. Every so often ashes would fly into the sky, causing a black smoke to emit up with them. Angrily she swore under her breath as she fell to her knees sadly, with tears streaming down her face. The house took only minutes to burn all the way down. Trees, and brush around the house smoldered quickly along with the rest of the house in soft red embers.

Her mind wandered to what she would do now that the house, the one that her parents had so generously bought was completely in ashes quietly smoldering in front of her blurry eyes. The small pieces of house could be found every so where, but would quickly get burned as well. Tears rolled down her cheeks, as she saw the embers quickly dying out without even a second chance. Not knowing what she would be faced with she decided to sit there numbly.

Sit there and realize what had just happened in front of her eyes. The seconds that it seemed to take for the house to burn down, moments she’d sit there blankly. She hadn’t known what exactly to do, nothing registered in her mind to do anything. Her mind wandered, her blankness seemed to run further. Nothing entered her mind as it flooded with fire, and the things she’d once known got burned down with them.

Slowly, she walked away from the house, and numbly wrapped her arms around her waist with the loose fitting jacket. There was nothing else to do, and with the snow falling from the sky, the place where her house once stood, was getting covered with a soft blanket of snow. Continuing to walk from the house, only small trails of footprints leading away from it could be seen.

It was all that she left of the old house you see it was left like the past with the family left inside the house. For she’d left her parents in their room, as the fire set ablaze to the overly huge house. Leaving them inside, to die with the great old house.

But she continued to walk, and left the old life.
